“Only a renewing architecture lasts” Since 1976, the Caramelo Arquitetos Associados ltda. has acted in the market, always brought up to date and keeping the excellency in the execution of its projects. Contemporary, innovative, anxious for new challenges and with a great team, always ready to attend you. “When a man express its ideas, many call it creation. When the creation is put on paper, many call it art. When the art becomes greater that the creation, many call it reality.” If this affirmation is true, the caramelo arquitetos associados is the synthesis of it.

The history of the Caramelo Arquitetos Associados is mixed up with its director’s career, the architect Antonio Caramelo Vasquez, who sees architecture like reason for living. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanist at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in 1973, Caramelo was one of the founders of the Ronald Lago Constructions, founder and technical director of the Sergio Aníbal Real Estate Enterprises, and also involved in the foundation of the Architecture Offices Directing Association of Bahia (ADEA). All those experiences were extremely important to his intellectual formation about commercial installations, civil constructions and urban planning.

In 1976, the architect opted for the exclusive acting in the architectonic and urbanistic projects’ area, entirely dedicating himself to his office situated at a building in Ondina’s neighborhood for 30 years now.

Filled with surrounded architecture books, specialized magazines, painting and art pieces, the space gathers a team of professional architects and students, and also communication and financial departments.

Having already signed over 1000 projects, the Caramelo Arquitetos has mostly of it’s works in Salvador, when adding up all the projects in other cities such as Manaus, Belém, Cuiabá, Campo Grande, Fortaleza, Aracaju, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Uberlândia, Goiânia, Brasília, São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, Campinas, São José dos Campos, Londrina and Curitiba.

Among the prices won by Caramelo, an associated member of the Brazilian Association of Architecture Offices (AsBEA), are highlighted the biennial price by the Architects Institute of Bahia (IAB), the price Agência Central do Banco do Nordeste and the Ademi – Architect of the Year in 2006 and 2008.
